I Was Born in a Small Town

Not really. I was born in a big city but I have an addiction to small town America. I get a peaceful feeling every time we venture into one. Especially on Sunday mornings. Most of the time it feels like we have the whole town to ourselves on those Sunday morning drives. I can't tell you how many times I've said, "I could live here." I love it when small towns preserve their history and buildings and I could just see us living in a little house on Main St. one day.

Millerton, New York

Millerton was named one of "The Ten Coolest Small Towns in America" by Frommer's Budget Travel Magazine in 2007, and has been featured in the New York Timesarticle "Williamsburg on the Hudson", which are paraphrased in the History section.

Saluda, North Carolina

Saluda is a city Polk and Henderson counties in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The population was 713 at the 2010 census. Saluda is famous for sitting at the top of the Norfolk Southern Railway's Saluda Grade, which was the steepest main line standard-gauge railway line in the United States until Norfolk Southern ceased operations on the line in 2001.

Woodstock, Virgina

Woodstock is a town in Shenandoah CountyVirginia, United States. It has a population of 5,097 according to the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Shenandoah County.

Tucumcari, New Mexico

I'm not sure if this is considered a small town but it sure is one of our favorites on Route 66 since the first time we visited in April 2013. Tucumcari (pronounced like "TWO-come-carry") is a city in and the county seat of Quay County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 5,363 at the 2010 census. Tucumcari was founded in 1901, two years before Quay County was founded.

These are just a few from our travels. We've been to so many and hope to visit many more!
