ROUTE 66 ~ APRIL 2013
My post on the morning of April 5, 2013: "Pulling out at 6-AM with Joe Butrim for our dream trip! This is the one we've been waiting for! We're ready to get our kicks!"
Driving Route 66 was one of the most adventurous, satisfying, and rewarding trips Joe and I have ever taken. We had researched and planned this trip for two years and finally got to experience it. We started the official route in Galena, Kansas and drove to The Santa Monica pier in California in nine days. We saw so much beauty on this road and met some wonderful people along the way who made us feel at home when we were thousands of miles away from home. The scenery was breathtaking and we were reminded of the history and beauty of our country through this road. Joe and I highly recommend this journey to everyone, as Route 66 IS the Mother of all Roads!
